Becki Hrubes

Becki has been teaching in the Early Childhood and Special Education field for over 12 years. She received her bachelor’s from Purdue University in Early Childhood and Special Education and her master’s from American College of Education in Curriculum and Instruction and English as a Second Language.

Becki is passionate about instilling a love of learning in the early formative years.   She wants every child that graduates Hinsdale Covenant Preschool to not only be academically prepared for the demands of Kindergarten, but to have a strong sense of confidence and self-assurance. She is very excited to join the team and honored to serve as director to the  incredible community of families and their children. Becki is thrilled to be joining such a strong team of educators, whose extensive instructional knowledge matches their love and commitment to each individual child and their families.

Becki grew up in Oak Brook and attended Hinsdale Central where she met her husband.  She now resides in Hinsdale with her family. Her eldest son will be attending Oak School in 1st grade and her daughter will be in the 2s room here at Hinsdale Covenant Preschool!

Kim Airhart

Kim Airhart is a mom to two daughters who both attended Hinsdale Covenant Preschool. She attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. After a career in public relations, Kim began working at Covenant Preschool as a substitute teacher in 2012. She joined the team in 2013 in the Threes. Kim loves playing a role in helping kids develop socially and emotionally through fun and creative hands-on experiences. Kim resides in Hinsdale with her family.

Kathy Behrens

Kathy Behrens has taught Preschool in Hinsdale beginning in 2005. She joined Hinsdale Covenant in the three year old classroom.
She graduated from Texas Christian University with a B.S in Home Economics.
Kathy feels blessed to work in such a loving and nurturing environment. She loves working with children of all ages but especially preschoolers. The most rewarding feeling to Kathy is seeing the children develop socially and emotionally.
Kathy lives in Hinsdale with her husband Chris. When not teaching, she enjoys racket sports, gardening, reading and cooking.

Sue Bieze

Sue Bieze worked as an accountant after attending Elmhurst College. In the fall of 2002, Sue began as a teacher’s aide at Covenant Preschool, and went back to school to get her teacher’s qualification. She has taught in the Threes, Fours, Pre-k, and Kindergarten Enrichment classes. Sue has been happily married to her husband, Gary, for over 40 years, and they have two grown children and three grandchildren. She feels very blessed to work in the loving environment that Covenant Preschool provides, and to have the privilege of getting to know so many wonderful children and families.

Jodi Brubaker

Jodi Brubaker began teaching at Covenant Preschool in 2013. She received her B.S. degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from Chapman University. Before starting her family, Jodi taught three years of first grade and two years of Kindergarten. After sending her three children to Covenant Preschool, she became part of the teaching staff. She also tutors at WSEA, and lives in Hinsdale with her family.

Mia Channell

Mia Channell began teaching the Twos at Covenant Preschool in 2018. She received her Elementary Education and Master’s Degrees from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and DePaul University (Chicago, IL).  Mia took time off from teaching to raise her daughters, one of whom attended Covenant Preschool. She is blessed to be teaching at an amazing school that has a nurturing, loving environment to foster young children and build their confidence while they learn, play and interact in classroom activities. When Mia isn’t busy with her three daughters, husband and dog, she loves to cook and play tennis.

Deb Flessor

After receiving her degree from Augustana College, Deb Flessor began her career teaching third and fourth grade; then she was the Learning Center Director in a K-6 school. Deb’s first experience with Covenant Preschool was when her daughter attended the Threes and Fours programs. Deb has taught here for over 20 years, first as a Threes teacher and presently as the Pre-K and K-Enrich teacher. She loves gardening, family time and reading, especially books she can share with her preschoolers. Deb resides in Western Springs with her husband.

Cathy Klink

Cathy Klink completed her BA degree at DePaul University and then started working in Surety Bonds.  She took time off from working to raise her daughter and son.  Cathy began working at Covenant Church in 2018 in the childcare room and now she’s in the Fours room. Cathy enjoys working with the children and bringing faith-based teachings to the classroom. Cathy also keeps busy tutoring kids, baking and reading.  She lives in Hinsdale with her husband, two kids and a dog.

Renee Lezon

Renee Lezon began teaching at Hinsdale Covenant Preschool in 2006. Renee started teaching in the Pre-K program, and also taught Threes and Fours. Renee received her B.A. from Elmhurst College in Speech and Language Pathology. Renee feels it is an honor to teach at a Christ-centered preschool. She adores every aspect of Early Childhood Development and loves working with preschoolers. Renee lives with her family in LaGrange Highlands.

Lisa Minch

Lisa Minch is very happy to have recently joined the Hinsdale Covenant Preschool Threes program. Lisa earned her B.A. in psychology from Northeastern Illinois University, with a research-based focus in education and a minor in linguistics. She is excited to work with our children, and looks forward to aiding in the amazing developmental strides they make in these pivotal years. Along with her remarkable, caring and committed colleagues, Lisa aims to provide faith-based educational underpinnings in an extremely caring and child-centered environment. Lisa lives in Downers Grove with her husband, daughter and son.

Cathy Wagner

Cathy Wagner has been working as a preschool teacher assistant in Hinsdale for 12 years, and has been at Hinsdale Covenant Preschool since 2018, working in the Twos and Threes.  Cathy considers it a joy and a privilege to be working with the staff at Covenant Preschool, as well as with the little people who daily walk through the doors.  In her free time Cathy enjoys spending time with her family and watching Masterpiece Theater!
